Independence (1999) is a Malayalam Action Movie. Directed by Vinayan. Starring Rajan P. Movie is a well packed action with some bits of magic and the revenge. Mukunthan is a rich guy, who was later a servant of King, His Highness Prabhakara varma. He is now very influential and powerful.The CM is also his close friend and business partner. Actually both were the servants of Prabhakara Varma. They killed him together and grabbed all his wealth, they assigned the murder in to the neck of Konnikal vasu, who was a Naxalist. His is son Krishna, a typical youngster. Devika & Lakshmi are Prabhakara varma's daughters who are in search of Mukunthan. Accompanied by Munna, who is an expert in magics. C.I Manmadhan Potti, is a funny Police inspector. Sri Devi IPS is a bold and straight forward police officer. Her Husband Mohan is an IAS officer. Mytreyan is a local news magazine owner.
The Movie starts with a raid in Mukunthan's home. Devika, Lakshmi and their gang disguised as police officers and they took all the money and important documents from the home. Mukunthan called for help and the real Police came. Lakshmi and her crew done the robbery in the Name of Sri Devi IPS. After.After that they kidnapped Krishna and took all the gold from Mukunthan's jewelry. But Krishna managed to inform police. They came to take him and arrest the kidnappers. But krishna realied it's his child hood friends and he changed his mind.So hided himself when the police came. But Lakshmi wasn't ready to forgive him. Devika felt a soft corner to him,, since she was her childhood friend. The next is a twist in movie. Mohan is kidnapped by Mukunthan's gang and they replaced him with a local lorry driver, who got face cut. He was assiagned to take the documents from her house. He pretended to be abnormal. Mean while Krishna takes Devika in a scooter to nearby empty house, and he removed his mask of fake love. Luckily Lakshmi came and killed him before anything went wrong. From this the movie goes on very exciting tweaks and twists. Will the Lorry man steal the documents ? So what about Lakshmi & Devika's revenge? Who is the actual murderer ? Any un revealed mystery?
