Kala Bazaar (1989)

The film opens at the municipal building and construction department office (Mumbai, India). The superintendent of the office, Thakur, gets a telephone call from the industrialist Ranbir Gupta. Ranbir asks if his construction permits have been approved. Thakur is flustered, but informs him that a newly appointed clerk in his office is holding up the file.

The film introduces the new clerk, Kimtilal Saxena (Kadar Khan). When an ordinary guy approaches him with plans to extend the perimeter of his home (and, in accordance with prevalent practice, offers him a bribe), Kimtilal flatly refuses. The guy insists, so Kimtilal asks him to send up a cup of tea (with 2 spoonfuls of sugar) from the small shop opposite the office. The guy approaches the tea stall run by the eccentric tea vendor Kutti (Johny Lever), only to discover that each spoonful of sugar is 200 rupees (the bribe for Kimtilal). The guy is surprised, but Kutti explains that one must change with the times. The guy pays Kutti and duly gets his permits. Kimtilal settles accounts with Kutti every evening, and that Kutti receives a small cut. The money trail touches everyone at the office.

Tahkhana (1986)

A dying Thakur Surjeet Singh bequeaths the entire estate to his son, Raghuvir, disowning the other, Dhurjan, the family's black sheep, who also indulges in black magic. The latter swears to use magical powers to usurp the estate, and even arranges the abduction of Raghuvir's daughters, Sapna and Aarti. Mangal and his men manage to apprehend Dhurjan, imprison him in a dungeon, and rescue Aarti. However, they are unable to locate Sapna, and Raghuvir is killed. Before dying, he informs Mangal that Sapna has one of two pieces of a locket around her neck, while the other is on Aarti's, and when joined together will reveal the location of a treasure buried in a dungeon. 20 years later, Aarti and her boyfriend, Vijay, along with several others, will attempt to unearth this treasure - not realizing that they not only face betrayal from one of their own, but will also release and fall prey to an ageless and indestructible entity.

Purani Haveli (1989)

The movie story deals with a young couple Raja and Rita are driving through a dense forest at night. Tired and sleepy, they decide to stop for the night, and find a haveli nearby. They fall asleep in the outskirts of the mansion. Around midnight, the husband awakes all of a sudden and gets up to investigate. Then a horrible monster attacks him. His wife wakes up hearing him scream and they are both killed by the monster. An old man Narendra suddenly appears, a bit too late but eventually traps the monster in an underground cage and attaches a cross to the latch to keep him from escaping. The Story moves into the lives of an industrialist Kumar, his cunning wife Seema and their niece Anita. Kumar’s brother and his wife were killed in a car accident; their vast estate is held in trust by Kumar until Anita comes of age. Kumar is a good human being who loves his niece like a daughter, but his wife Seema is a cunning lady who wishes her younger brother Vikram to impress and wed Anita, so that both of them can milk out the entire estate. But, Anita does not approve of Vikram and is in love with a photographer, Sunil. Kumar decides to buy the mansion for a sum of twenty five lacs from Mr. Rana. While leaving with Rana to see the mansion, Kumar once again instructs Vikram along with his wife to woo Anita over as soon as possible. Seema asks her husband to send word as soon as he reaches the mansion. Meanwhile, Shankar, Rana's old servant, a habitual drunkard goes to the mansion to clean it up. But the monster controls all the evil forces and as a result, Shankar is killed by an iron statue. Both Rana and Kumar reach the haveli at night and they both get killed by the monster.

The movie story deals with Inspector Amar Nath who apprehends and arrests a notorious gangster who goes by different aliases, and gets him sentenced to prison for several years. Amar, who comes from a wealthy family, defies his father, Jagirdar Bishamber Nath, and marries a poor but pretty woman, Sheela Sharma. He is asked to leave the family home. Amar and Sheela settle elsewhere and soon are the proud parents of a daughter, Jyoti. They meet with the parents of young Deepak Kumar and arrange a child-marriage of their daughter with Deepak. Pinto escapes from prison, hunts down Amar and Sheela, and kills them. Luckily, a loyal employee and chauffeur, Abdul, saves their daughter's life. He takes her to Jagirdar, who accepts her with tears in his eyes. Years later, Deepak and Jyoti have grown up. While Jyoti still lives with her wealthy grandpa, Deepak's dad has died, leaving his widow destitute. When she goes to confirm their marriage, Jyoti shuns and humiliates her. This enrages Deepak and he vows to make Jyoti apologize to his mother, as well as confirm their marriage.

She had only one choice of saving Vinnie's life, it was to marry JK. Only then he would release Vinnie's love, Rakesh. He actually wanted to marry Shobha because he wanted to embarrass her in front of everyone because she had embarrassed him in front of his office people. So, Shobha convinces Anil's mother to let Vinnie marry the one she loves. But Anil thinks that she got married to JK because he is a rich man. Anil takes a trip somewhere else to forget her. There, he falls in love with a girl named Sona. Meanwhile, JK keeps embarrassing Shobha every time. When JK subsequently gets to know that he might die due to too much intake of alcohol, he grows nice with Shobha, and soon they fall in love. Anil gets married to Sona while JK dies. Anil thinks its Shobha's punishment of what she did that killed JK. But then Anil comes to know the truth and visits her. She is pregnant with JK's baby. One day Anil meets her in the hospital but Sona sees them and she misunderstands their relation. She has a car accident and is soon admitted in the hospital. The doctor says that she is all right but she cannot have a baby. That night Anil tells the truth about Shobha to his mother and Sona. Suddenly Shobha appears she gives her own baby to Sona. She says that it is her all fault that Sona couldn't have a baby. Shobha had consumed a bottle of poison before coming to Anil's house. She is soon dead.

Naam (1986)

Janki Kapoor and her two sons Ravi Kapoor and Vicky Kapoor come from a poor family, and have difficulties making ends meet.
To add to this burden, the family has to consider the waywardness of Vicky, who is always getting into trouble with the law. Ravi, on the other hand, is a hard-working, responsible son who earns for the family, but also makes sacrifices for Vicky. Vicky is determined to get a job in Dubai as he has heard of thousands of Indians making a successful living there.
Ravi arranges for Vicky's visa and the money to go to Dubai. Once in Dubai, the Kapoors receive no word from him. Vicky has encountered problems in Dubai, as he was cheated out of a job and his visa was obtained fraudulently. In order to remain in Dubai, he must work for ruthless international smuggler Rana, and must earn his keep or be turned over to the authorities which eventually leads to Vicky's death by Police with Ravi watching and brothers consoling each other while the film ends.

Vijay Mehra is a wealthy builder, and loves Suman, who also loves Vijay. Ram Dogra is a civil engineer who loves Suman. Ram and Suman were friends at college time.
But Vijay leaves Suman because he feels jealousy of Ram & Suman’s friendship and marries another girl, and Suman gets married to Ram, but Vijay's wife dies after giving birth to a baby boy, Bunty, while Suman and Ram welcome a baby girl, Pinky.
Years later, Bunty and Pinky as strangers, Vijay wants Bunty to become builder to him, but Bunty wants to become pilot, due to this reason Bunty leaves the home, Pinky also leaves the home because his father wants her to get married.
Bunty and Pinky meet again, but Hawaldar Sher Singh is assigned the job of finding the missing boy & girl, handcuffs them together, after some of good and bad circumstances, both fall in love with each other, they go somewhere unknown place and build a small cottage and live happily.
But, not ever after. Ram enters the scene and forcibly takes away Pinky. Now, Vijay is ready to accept his son's love but Ram plans to get marry his daughter against her wishes.
Bunty and Pinky run away from home again, but a robbery gang follow them, suddenly Vijay and Ram come to save their children, Bunty saves Ram's life. Ram changes his mind, at the end Bunty and Pinky get married.

Story revolves around a police officer who kills a bandit and adopts his orphan son. The boy becomes a police officer and falls in love with the man's daughter Gauri played by Farha. The step-mother who is the police officer's wife falls for khrishna. Meanwhile, she is also having an affair with Girivar. Khrishna rejects the step mother. Samraat (1982)

The story is about a sunken ship of gold and the quest to find it by all parties, good and bad. Captain Chawla has been employed for years with a cargo shipping company run by Ranbir. While celebrating the new year, Chawla hears gunshots and goes below to investigate. He finds out that one of his officers, Gomes, has shot and killed a drunken sailor. Before he could do anything to address this situation, there is an explosion abroad the ship, "Samraat", which subsequently sinks. Ranbir finds out that Chawla was misusing his captaincy and smuggling gold bars, and files a police complaint, Chawla is arrested and imprisoned. His daughter, Suman, returns from England and decides to find out what really happened as her dad claims that he is innocent. In order to carry out this investigation, she hires two crazy divers, Ram and Raju, who decide to undertake this mission. Then Ram finds out that the ship contains gold bars which are virtually theirs for the taking. He informs Raj, only to find out that Raj is only interested in handing over the gold to the Government, as he has fallen in love with Suman, and wants to assist her in proving her dad's innocence. The question remains will both friends be able to reconcile their differences, and is Chawla really telling the truth?

Aakhir Kyon? (1985)

The movie story is about Nisha an orphaned child who has been adopted by her relatives and raised alongside her cousin, Indu. As both cousins enter their 20s, Indu falls in love with the rich and good-looking Kabir However, Kabir takes a liking to Nisha and to the dismay of Indu, marries Nisha, wanting an obedient and socially accepted wife molding to the traditional conservative norms as Nisha constrained to, compared to Indu, who was liberal and progressive in her views and behavior. After marriage, all seems well in the life of Nisha and Kabir and soon, Nisha becomes pregnant. Meanwhile, a happy Nisha is oblivious to Kabir's affairs and dalliance with several women, on the pretext of business trips.
Nisha's pregnancy is deemed as a complication by her doctor and upon the insistence of Indu's mother, Indu moves into Nisha and Kabir's home to take care of her. As Nisha becomes restricted in her daily activities, Indu gets closer to Kabir and engages in an extramarital affair with him, reviving her erstwhile attraction to him. Oblivious to these new changes, Nisha continues with her life and eventually delivers a girl. Upon return and realizing the affair between her husband and cousin, she is shattered and confronts Kabir and Indu. Kabir resists and refuses to end his affair and asks her to adjust to this change. Nisha refuses and leaves the house, handing her daughter's responsibilities to their house maid.
In the new male-dominated world, Nisha struggles and meets with Alok. They quickly become friends and Alok develops feelings towards Nisha; but Nisha remains focused on her work and succeeds as an author detailing her life struggles and the fight against it. On the other side, the relationship between Kabir and Indu remains stagnant, with their financial situation worsening and circumstances making them realize their mistakes. As Nisha and Kabir's daughter becomes of married age, a worried Kabir is unsure how he would afford such an alliance, but Nisha comes and rescues Kabir by selling him her publishing rights henceforth and forwarding the royalties to her marriage and life. Kabir apologizes for whatever happened and repents deeply, leaving Nisha to comment that she has moved on from her life and does not want her daughter to know her identity and the pain she might endure knowing her mother's fate. As their daughter is married, Alok meets with Nisha and tells her that it’s time for them to officiate their relation.

The twist that occurred when Inder gives her the keys of a new house proves to be double-edged, when it is revealed that he is in love with another woman, Kavita with whom he earned the money for the new apartment. While previously giving advice to her maid cheated by her husband, now Pooja becomes herself involved in a similar situation. When Inder deserts Pooja for Kavita, she chooses to leave the apartment for a women's hostel with only ₹2000 that she had when she got married. She is helped by Raj to surpass the difficulties of life as a single person, to find a job and to rely morally on herself. Raj and Pooja become good friends. Gradually, Kavita's mental instability deepens her fears of insecurity, even after Inder requests Pooja to sign the divorce papers.
Raj falls in love with Pooja and proposes to her. She refuses saying she is empty and cannot give him anything. Raj tries to persuade her saying that she cannot spend the rest of her life feeling miserable about the past and that she should try to find a new life for herself. Pooja promises to think about it.
Pooja's maid, whose only aim in life is to secure a good education for her daughter, has saved ₹1000 towards her admission fees. She finds out that her drunk husband has stolen the money. Furious, she searches for him to find him in the arms of his lover after spending all the money. She kills him and goes to the police station and confesses her crime. Worried about her daughter, she calls Pooja who promises to take care of the daughter.
After the insistence of Kavita's mother and her personal doctor, Pooja personally assures Kavita that she is not interested in Inder any more. However, Pooja's attitude only convinces Kavita that breaking Pooja's marriage was a mistake. To escape from her feeling of guilt and insecurity, she breaks-up with Inder. The latter tries to revive his relation with Pooja, but is rejected.
Pooja continues to live with her maid's daughter and refuses to marry Raj saying that she has found a new meaning to life in being independent and being a mother to the child and marrying Raj will only weaken her.

The movie is about the love between a Tamil man, Vasu and a North Indian woman, Sapna, who are neighbours in Goa. They come from totally different backgrounds and can hardly speak the other's language. Their parents despise each other and they have regular skirmishes. When Vasu and Sapna admit their love, there is chaos in their homes, and their parents reject the idea.
As a ploy to separate the lovers, their parents impose a condition that Vasu and Sapna should stay away from each other for a year. After such a period, if they still want to be together, they can get married. During the year there should be no contact between them whatsoever. Vasu and Sapna reluctantly agree to the condition and decide to separate.
Vasu moves to Hyderabad, and they both initially suffer due to the separation. Vasu then meets Sandhya, a widow who teaches him Hindi. Meanwhile, Sapna's mother brings a family friend's son, Chakram, to Goa to distract Sapna from to Vasu, but she is not impressed. At a chance meeting in Mangalore, Chakram lies to Vasu that Sapna has agreed to marry him. Vasu is upset and decides to marry Sandhya on the rebound. However, Sandhya comes to know of Vasu's real love and goes to Goa to know the exact situation and to clear the misunderstanding between the lovers.
Vasu then returns to Goa and impresses Sapna's parents with his Hindi. When Vasu goes to meet Sapna he is attacked by a group of goons hired by Sandhya's brother. Meanwhile, Sapna is raped by a librarian at a temple and is left to die. The movie ends tragically when Vasu and Sapna commit suicide by jumping off a cliff.

The movie story deals with Kishan and Bishan both are childhood friends. Kishan is an orphan but he is self-sufficient and hard-working, while Bishan comes from an affluent background. The friendship between the two is extremely strong and is the bane of Bishan's uncle who has his eyes on his widowed sister's wealth. In a bid to separate the two friends the uncle manipulates his sister into sending Bishan away to the city and then abroad for further education. When the two friends re-unite years later, Bishan discovers that Kishan has a great voice. Bishan is now a successful businessman and he wants to promote Kishan's singing talent. Kishan goes to the city with his friend, where Bishan asks Komal to groom him to be a performer and a gentleman. Kishan tries to get expelled from the process by being uncooperative and disruptive. In the meantime, Bishan discovers that the family wealth has been systematically looted over the last 18 years by the uncle and his son. He is forced to borrow by mortgaging his remaining assets in order to ensure that Kishan becomes a successful singer. This causes a major rift between Bishan and his wife who is convinced that Kishan will turn his back on his friend if he were to ever succeed. Kishan's debut concert is a huge success & he goes on to donate the proceeds of his earning & consequent record deals to rid his friend Bishan of his many mortgages & in order to help woo his estranged sister-in-law & lovable nephew back into the house. Kishan proceeds to become a star and Komal - his trainer professes her love for him. Bishan in the meanwhile falls into a conspiracy further set by his treacherous uncle & cousin. He is kidnapped alongside several hostages - primarily children on his shipping vessle, brainwashed & tortured & forced to sign a confession that all the misdeeds have been done by him. Bishan loses his mental stability & goes into shock. He is then thrown into an asylum after he loses his mind & suffers from amnesia. Kishan pretends to be mad & admits himself in the asylum by tricking the authorities & saves his friend by reviving his memory successfully by feeding him rotis as he used to when they were children.

Dhaniram brings a trucker named Gerulal to Jugni's house so that he can rent a room. Jugni lives in dilapidated house with three young daughters, all of whom are of marriage age. The eldest is Mimki, followed by Mithu, and Chinki. Her husband is an alcoholic and wayward, and comes home every few weeks. Jugni past was sordid and involved dancing in a brothel. Jugni and her daughters labor for a living. Gerulal gets settled in, and becomes part of this family. Then when he gets news of his maternal grandmother's passing, he leaves and does not return for several months. When he returns, nothing and no one is the same anymore.

Maqsad where Rajeshwar belongs to a wealthy family, and is the only son of Dharamraj, who is an industrialist, and partners with Naglingam Reddy, Nagendra, and Dhanraj. Rajeshwar meets Bharati, who comes from a very poor family, and falls in love with her. Bharati's father is a schoolteacher, Vishnupratap, and has also to beg for food house to house to make ends meet. Bharati initially does not reciprocrate Rajeshwar's affection, but when she realizes that he really does love her, she too falls in love with him. Bharati's has a neighbor, Tilak, who is unemployed, and lives with his mother, Sharda, who works as a maidservant in a rich family's house.

Tilak falls in love with the daughter, Rani, of this rich family. Both Rajeshwar and Tilak dislike each other. Then Dharamraj gets killed, and the evidence points towards Tilak. Tilak is arrested and unless he can gather evidence that clears him, he may face the death sentence.

Oonche Log (English language: High Society People) is an Indian Hindi film directed by Brij, released on 5 July, 1985.
Thakur Vikram Singh, while driving home in his chauffeur-driven car, loses control, and crashes it in a building, instantly killing a woman. Vikram finds out that the woman had a young son, Raju, and decides to adopt him to atone for this crime. He takes him home with him, but Vikram's snobbish and arrogant son, Maan Singh, does not take kindly to this intrusion. Vikram decides to send him away to a hostel so that he can learn to get along with everyone. Shortly after that, Vikram passes away, his estate is taken over by his brother, Pratap, and Maan is allowed to return home. The first thing Maan does is to get Raju out of the house into their stables, and Pratap brands him with the letter "M" on his back. Years later, Raju is still working in the stables, is in love with Maan's sister, Poonam, and hopes for better times. When Maan finds out that Raju is in love with Poonam, he has him severely beaten, and left for dead, and arranges his sister's marriage with Yuvraj Singh. .....
