Billa is a 1980 Indian Tamil-language gangster film directed by R. Krishnamurthy and produced by Suresh Balaje. The film stars Rajinikanth, Sripriya, K. Balaji, Major Sundarrajan, R. S. Manohar, Thengai Srinivasan and A. V. M. Rajan. It was a remake of Don, a 1978 Hindi film written by Salim-Javed and starring Amitabh Bachchan. In turn, Billa went on to have its own remake, the 2007 Tamil film Billa.

Wanting to uncover Billa's accomplices, the police commissioner Alexander (K. Balaji) trains a lookalike village bumpkin Rajappa (also Rajinikanth) to pose as Billa and infiltrate the gang. The rest of the film deals with how Rajappa learns more about Billa's gang, and tries to get all of them arrested.

If Rajni fails to spend the money according to the rules, all the money will go to his father's trust which is managed by V.K.Ramasamy, "Nizhalgal" Ravi, Kitty and Raghuvaran. These four form a team of "villains". They want to spoil Rajni's efforts and get all the money for the trust and then to loot the money. Rambha is Visu's daughter and she is appointed as the accountant for Rajni for 30 days.

Rajinikanth is a rich man who lives with his sister (Rajasulochana) and a young house maid in Chennai. Her sister arranges a marriage for Rajinikanth with Sridevi, who lives in Trichy. Soon after they marry, Sridevi moves to Rajini's house and gets shocked to find the original face of Rajini and his sister (Rajasulochana). Rajini is a blue-film producer who records the bedroom scenes of him with his wife (Sridevi), without her knowledge and sells it in black market. Sridevi, initially believes Rajini a lot but later discovers that Rajini was already married to a woman who has become mad now. Jaishankar comes to know about this and tries to free Sridevi from the hands of Rajini. But, unfortunately Sridevi dies in the end without knowing the real face of Rajini.

Nann Adimai Illai (Tamil: நான் அடிமை இல்லை, English: I am not a slave) is a 1986 Indian Tamil drama film starring Rajinikanth and directed by Dwarakish.[1][2][3][4] This was the last Tamil film for actress Sridevi who stopped acting in Tamil films to concentrate on her Bollywood career. Movie was big Box Office failure.[5] The film was a remake of Hindi film Pyar Jhukta Nahin starring Mithun Chakraborty.

Thillu Mullu is a 1981 Tamil comedy film starring Rajinikanth, Madhavi, 'Thengai' Srinivasan, Nagesh, and Sowkar Janaki, with music composed by M. S. Viswanathan. It was directed by K. Balachander. The film is actually a remake of the Hindi comedy film Gol Maal, which was released in 1979.The film grossed INR 5 crore and declared "Blockbuster" at the box office.The film become second highest grosser in 1981 behind Sattam Oru Iruttarai.

Aiyampettai Arivudainambi Kaliyaperumal Chandran (A.A.K. Chandran for short) (Rajinikanth) is a playful young man. Upon completion of his degree, his uncle (Poornam Viswanathan) advises him to attend an interview for a job at his friend Sri Ramachandramurthy's (Thengai Srinivasan) company. The doctor advises Chandran to act in a manner most appreciated by Sri Ramachandramurthy: namely, wearing a Nehru kurta, always telling his full name, giving importance to his moustache, showing a lack of interest in sports and drama, showing respect for his father's words (i.e., by repeating the phrase "My father always told me" often) and detesting the concept of recommendations.
During the job interview, Chandran follows his uncle's advice perfectly and gets the job along with a beaming smile from his new boss. However, Chandran eventually gets caught when Sri Ramachandramurthy watches him at a football match, which he attends with his friends. He took leave on that day by telling his boss that his mother (who died many years ago) was in a serious medical condition. To escape from the ire of his boss and being fired, he makes his boss believe that it was his (fake) twin brother Indran (without a moustache) who was at the match and not himself. This idea is inspired by a dual role played by his actor friend Nagesh in a fictional film where he is in two roles: one with a moustache and one without. Sri Ramachandramurthy (although not convinced but feeling guilty due to suspecting his top employee) wants to see Chandran's brother Indran as well as his mother and wants Indran to teach music to his daughter Sarojini (Madhavi).

Apoorva Raagangal is a 1975 Tamil social drama film directed by K. Balachander. The film was controversial upon release as it examines relationships between people with wide age gaps, which challenged Indian social mores. It won three National Film Awards and three Filmfare Awards South. It was later remade by Balachander into Hindi as Ek Nai Paheli with Kamal Haasan and Hema Malini in the main lead.
